This study examines the integration of sustainable practices and occupational safety standards within New York State's green manufacturing sector, with a particular emphasis on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Using a mixed-methods approach that combines survey data, qualitative interviews, and policy analysis, the research evaluates how SMEs adopt lean-green strategies, adopt renewable energy, and implement eco-efficient technologies while complying with safety regulations. Findings indicate that green manufacturing offers measurable benefits in resource efficiency, reduced emissions, and enhanced worker safety; however, implementation is constrained by financial barriers, operational disruptions, and inconsistent regulatory frameworks. Policy clarity, technological adoption, and leadership engagement emerged as critical factors influencing successful integration. Case studies indicate that firms that leverage Industry 4.0 technologies and renewable energy achieve greater sustainability outcomes while strengthening safety compliance. The study concludes that aligning sustainability and safety is both feasible and strategically advantageous, and it provides recommendations for targeted financial incentives, streamlined policies, and collaborative industry-government initiatives to support broader adoption across New York State's manufacturing landscape.
